A recap of what the team at One Future Collective has been up to, in the past month.

One Future Fellowship: Closing

The closing of the first One Future Fellowship batch was held on the 3rd of November. After three months of learning, knowing each other and building varied kinds of community impact together, the members of the cohort bid adieu. One Future Fellows will go on and take their social impact projects to their target micro communities, to build change and create the impact they wish to create.

Certificate Course: Gender Sensitisation & PoSH, Bangalore

We hosted our Gender Sensitisation and PoSH course in Bangalore on the 8-9th November. The participants partook in energetic conversations, learnings and debunking stereotypes, while also learning about laws and legalities existing in India today around sexual harassment at the workplace.

Workshop: Inclusion in Classrooms, Shikha Academy

Our COO, Jerin Jacob hosted a workshop on Building inclusive practices in the classroom on the 22nd of November for students of Shikha Academy, Malad.

Workshops: Personal Safety Training in Association with Robinhood Army

Our team members, Jerin Jacob and Prerna Laddha hosted workshops on Child Safety and Personal Safety Training on the 23rd of November for mothers and kids residing at a construction site in Thane in association with Robinhood Army. They engaged with a total of 50+ mothers and kids via these workshops.

Virtual poetry reading session + Femjustice poetry booklet launch

We hosted a Facebook and Instagram live around Art, Resistance and Justice on the 25th of November and launched our booklet of Haikus on Feminist Justice. This collection of poems were co-created on the 17th August 2019 at the soft launch of the One Future Collective’s FemJustice Legal Centre. This booklet launch was a part of the series of events around promoting active Bystander Intervention for the 16 days activism campaign at OFC. To download a free copy of the booklet, click here.

Twitter Chat: Bystander Intervention

We hosted a twitter chat on the 26th of November on the theme of Bystander Intervention to debunk myths and notions around the concept of bystanders and intervention. This chat was a part of the series of events around promoting active Bystander Intervention for the 16 days activism campaign at OFC.

Training: CIVICUS-AGNA on Feminist Leadership, South Africa

Our founder and CEO, Vandita Morarkaa was in Johannesburg facilitating a 3 day training on Feminist Leadership for civic society leaders from across the world on behalf on One Future Collective and DIGNA during 27-29th November. The depth of knowledge, insight and care that each leader carried with them and their intent to translate their learnings into action back home gives us hope.

Queer Quiz Night

We hosted our second Queer Quiz Night at Doolally Taproom on the 27th of November. We also launched our manual on Sexual Health and Pleasure that day. To download a free copy of the manual, click here.

Playlist Launch: Songs of Hope

On the 28th of November, we launched a compiled list of songs that we crowdsourced around the theme of Justice across languages, in our communities. To access the link to the playlist, click here. Story Booklet Launch: Stories of Bystander Intervention

On the 29th of November, we launched a booklet of stories around Bystander Intervention, their impact, and what you can do to be a better bystander. To access the story booklet, click here. Workshops: Feminist Justice, Mumbai and Bangalore

On 30th November, we hosted our workshops on Introduction to Feminist Justice in Mumbai and Bangalore. We introduced lawyers, students, social activists to the concept on feminist lawyering and spoke about practices to bring gender equitable perspectives, learnt about trauma informed approach and altered ways of handling cases. This event was a part of the series of events around promoting active Bystander Intervention for the 16 days activism campaign at OFC.
