Get to know the fabulous people behind the magic at One Future Collective!

Vidur Kapoor, Business Development

Tell us a little about yourself.
Well, professionally I’m a Business Studies graduate from Delhi University with my schooling from Modern School, Delhi, and have worked for 9 years so far with what I’d like to believe is a diverse experience. Starting with a Business & Risk Advisory firm, Protiviti Consulting, I moved to help launch a stand-alone-resort in Jim Corbett, Samsara, and eventually, I went on manage the Supply Chain for a Coworking space, 91springboard. Diverse domains from research, analytics, procuring interior products, to developing procedures for their operations team, hiring the team, and training them. At 91springboard, I bumped into One Future Collective, and decided to offer my help. While I’m not working, I’d probably either be chit-chatting with random strangers, watching some television, or looking at furniture pieces online.

Tell us about what you do at One Future Collective?

At One Future, I try a new function for me- that of Business Development. I haven’t done anything thus far, and I hope they don’t kick me out for that. But I do hope to further their training and workshop modules and make them reach corporates, schools, and make a bigger impact.

Why One Future Collective?

I’m only a few months old in the organisation to comment on this, so still have to figure out what makes this workplace different from others. But the initial attraction was their work, and the impact that it could possibly create.

Your favourite One Future Collective memory.

As I said, I am too young in the organisation to even have a memory.

What inspires you?

I think life itself is very inspiring. Just the endless possibilities and an infinite combination of being and doing is immensely beautiful. It can get daunting, and bitter at times with the inequity that prevails, which is why the work at One Future Collective is sort of bringing life back into life. That’s inspirational.

Top three book/song recommendations or both!

This is a tough one. I’d like to think that one definitely can’t rank books, songs, and also one shouldn’t. Often books and songs are unfairly judged by way of comparison with each other. I’ll answer the books part, typically because for the songs, only the recent ones remain in my head. The recent song is Lone Dancer by Amartya Ghosh. I mean it’s not a recent release, but a recent discovery for me, and the one that I’m playing on repeat right now.
For the books bit, the books that made quite an impact on me:
  • Cobalt Blue by Sachin Kundalkar
  • Fallen Out of Time by David Grossman
  • Homegoing by Yaa Gyasi
  • Mudbound by Hillary Jordan
All these are beautifully written, sad, and important.
