My Integrated Masters in Anthropology from University of Hyderabad, which gave me a platform to unpack structures of patriarchy and caste while also training me in qualitative research methods. Throughout my Integrated Masters I have done fieldwork based internships in tribal areas of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana sanctioned by Sarva Siksha Abhiyan. Post my Masters I worked on a short term project by ICMR on health seeking behaviour among the Savara Tribe of Srikakulam, Andhra Pradesh. Such a fieldwork experience made me wonder about the prospects of fieldwork in cities. To take my love for cities even further, I did the Urban Fellows Program(UFP) from Indian Institute for Human Settlements. Through the UFP I learnt to think of the urban through an interdisciplinary lens. I explored complexities of urban spaces though understanding urban governance, informality, urban and regional economic development, urban risk and resilience, and climate change. I am currently working as a researcher in Hyderabad Urban Lab(HUL), a research organisation which works at the intersections of pure research, community engagement and pedagogic programs.
